Ruthie is a Certified Youth Resilience Coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation and trained in the Positive Intelligence framework.

Outside of coaching, Ruthie is a foster parent for teenagers, has a super-friendly cat named Wasabi, and loves gardening. She gets energy boosts through exercise (either rowing on the Willamette or during boot camp workout sessions with friends), and her happy place is in the summer sunshine next to one of Oregon’s beautiful rivers.

Meet Ruthie Ditzler

Ruthie is a career coach and vision board workshop facilitator who helps young adults and early-career professionals build confidence, clarify their strengths, and take aligned action toward meaningful work.

But she didn’t always know how to do that, especially for herself.

In her teens and twenties, she followed a path of “shoulds.” She chose a major based on what others said she was good at. After graduating, she had no clear roadmap. She didn’t know how to connect her degree to a career that felt aligned—or even what she was naturally good at. So she tried everything. At one point, she juggled three jobs and two unpaid internships, hoping that doing more would somehow lead to clarity.

Instead, she felt paralyzed by options. The world was wide open, but she had no idea how to choose a direction.

Like many of her clients now, Ruthie lacked confidence when applying for jobs. She undervalued her strengths, took roles where she was drastically underpaid, and thought burnout was just part of “figuring it out.”

After her second round of burnout in two years, she met with a career coach, and everything changed. She named her strengths, owned her values, and reflected on her accomplishments. That clarity led to a coaching role that felt deeply aligned and set her on the path she’s on today.

Now, Ruthie works with thoughtful, driven people who crave clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of purpose. Many of them have followed the “right” path — picked a solid major, landed a good first job — but still feel lost, disconnected, or unsure how to find work that actually fits. She creates a calm space where they can reconnect with themselves and take steps they feel good about. Whether helping a client map out goals, rewrite a resume, or practice articulating their strengths, Ruthie brings structure and support to a process that can otherwise feel overwhelming.

FAQ

How would you describe your coaching philosophy or approach?

Ruthie Ditzler Coaching is warm, grounded, and deeply empowering. I create a calming, supportive space where anxious and overwhelmed young people can exhale, organize their thoughts, and reconnect with who they truly are. I don't tell them what to do — I guide them to discover it for themselves. My presence brings clarity and structure, helping clients turn confusion into confidence and big-picture dreams into tangible steps forward. Through a blend of inner reflection and practical tools, I empower youth and early-career professionals to own their strengths, articulate what they’re good at, and take aligned action toward meaningful and fulfilling work.

What are your primary coaching focus areas or niches?

I specialize in supporting young adults and early career professionals who are navigating big decisions and transitions. This includes:

  • Teens exploring whether college is the right path and what to study

  • College students unsure how to land a job after graduation

  • 20-somethings feeling overwhelmed by career options and next steps

  • I also focus on helping clients build a positive mindset during the job search and use vision boarding as a creative tool to set meaningful goals and bring them to life.

What type of clients do you love working with—and why?
I love working with young adults (ages 17–30) who are introspective, feeling overwhelmed, and asking themselves, “What’s next?” Many are early-career professionals ready to pivot into work that better aligns with their strengths.

Why them? Because I remember exactly what that stage felt like—and I strive to be the supportive, steady presence I wish I had back then. I’m here to offer both intuitive guidance and practical tools to help clients trust themselves, get clear on their goals, and confidently navigate the job market.
